But is it any good? We'll learn together shall we?

Speaker A:

Get this, a brand new tool named Klagson AI reckons it can bang out a podcast publishing ready podcast advert in wait for it under five minutes.

Speaker A:

No studio, no voiceover artist, no faffing about.

Speaker A:

Just type your copy, pick a synthetic voice, sprinkle in some royalty free music and boom, you've got your 32nd ad spot.

Speaker A:

Cost wise, you can download the finished ad for 99 pounds plus VAT or let them handle the whole thing if you've got at least a £1,200 media budget.

Speaker A:

So in the interest of balance, let's look at why this could be brilliant and why it could suck.

Speaker A:

First of all, why it could be brilliant?

Speaker A:

Well, the speed for shoestring prices.

Speaker A:

Indies and small businesses finally get pro sounding ads without financing it by selling your house, including your cat, for free.

Speaker A:

The iteration if you need regional slang, a new offer, all you need to do is hit, generate and you're back in the feed before your kettles boiled.

Speaker A:

And the multilingual approach.

Speaker A:

This thing can pump out Spanish, polish, even Mandarin, so you can target your ideal clients in another country without butchering the accent.

Speaker A:

Here's why it sucks.

Speaker A:

There's an authenticity tax to pay.

Speaker A:

Nielsen powered Acast data shows host red spots lift brand recall 21% versus 14% for pre recorded audio ads.

Speaker A:

In other words, listeners trust the human they're already hanging out with in their ears.

Speaker A:

The sonic sameness.

Speaker A:

If every shop in Shoreditch used the same voice bank, audiences would click stop faster than you can say skip.

Speaker A:

The compliance is all on you.

Speaker A:

Cap rules don't care that a robot wrote the copy.

Speaker A:

If it's misleading, you're getting fined.

Speaker A:

And what about the creative soul?

Speaker A:

AI still struggles with the cheeky wink, the comedic beat, the pregnant pause that sells the punchline.

Speaker A:

So here's the bottom line.

Speaker A:

You need to treat Klaxon AI like a podcasting Swiss army knife, not a magic wand.

Speaker A:

Use it to draft and demo if budget allows.

Speaker A:

Layer a quick human tag or tweak the VO timing so it sounds less like Siri has just downed a Jaeger bomb.

Speaker A:

And for the love of ears everywhere, test it against a real host red ad before you blast it across every feed.

Podcasting Insights with The Podmaster: growth advice for people and brands
Helping you attain podcasting mastery
Are you a brand or individual who's looking to improve and grow your podcast? You're in the right place. Together, we'll help you attain 'podmastery'.
Podcasting is such a complex medium, with so many factors that can impact your success. It's my goal to cover all these topics with you, and help you maximise the results you're getting from your efforts.
My name is Neal Veglio and I've been in the podcasting game since 2001, when I became the first person in the UK to upload audio of my then radio show online, and generate an audience.
This audience followed me throughout my radio career and engaged with my various other podcasts.
But it wasn't always easy.
And when I took a career break from radio for a few years in 2007, I had to learn how to build audience without the lift of an FM frequency.
I learned a lot from that experience.
I now help other podcasters to achieve their goals through my company Podknows Podcasting.
Each episode, I'll be offering you some insights into what I've done and what I've helped my clients do with our podcasts in the hope we can help YOU increase your podcast's chances of becoming more successful!
And ensuring you can avoid the dreaded 'podfade'!

Neal Veglio

As the UK's longest serving podcaster (having started in 2001 before it was even known as a 'thing') I've seen a lot of changes to the industry. Having launched more than 100 podcasts over the years, I help brands and entrepreneurs to get their marketing messaging out 'in the wild', but in a compelling, not boring way.
